Tabernacle United Methodist Church
Barhamsville, Virginia
Tabernacle United Methodist Church was first formed in the late 1700's within the small farming community of Barhamsville, Virginia, which is located in New Kent County. The first worship services were held under a grape arbor behind the current church building. Over the years, the community and campus building grew from a one room sanctuary, originally built in the 1840's. As the community flourished over the years, the church facility was expanded several times.
When a new steeple addition was planned for the church building, The Structures Group, Inc. (TSG) was hired to help make this exciting vision a reality. TSG began by performing a structural evaluation of the existing roof. Following the roof analysis, TSG provided the structural design and construction documents that were necessary for the installation of the new, pre-fabricated steeple and to strengthen the existing roof structure to support the additional weight of the steeple.
